Mission
Travel to Hotel publishes travel information optimized for Information Gain: data and tactics that cannot be replicated by generic AI summaries. Every tool, guide, and dataset is designed to answer questions that require net-new inputs — your passport, real weather, allergens, trail conditions — not consensus rehashed from existing sources.
How Our Tools Work
Visa & Entry Intelligence
Our visa checker queries the Travel Buddy API v2, which aggregates official government immigration sources and updates visa rules continuously. Each passport-destination pair is cached for six hours to balance speed and accuracy.
We check: primary visa rule, stay duration, passport validity requirements (6-month rule), exception pathways for Schengen/US visa holders, and mandatory e-Arrival requirements.
When the API is unavailable, we fall back to conservative "verify with embassy" results rather than guessing.
Dynamic Packing Generator
The packing generator combines Tomorrow.io weather forecasts (with Open-Meteo fallback) and activity modelling to recommend gear based on what you'll actually be doing.
We calculate Heat Index using the Rothfusz regression (NOAA standard) to show apparent temperature. 35°C in Perth at 30% humidity ≠ 35°C in Singapore at 85% humidity. Heat Index explains why.
Weather data is refreshed every 6 hours. CDC Yellow Book guidelines inform heat stress thresholds and gear recommendations.
Maldives Resort Finder
Live hotel search powered by Hotellook, which compares rates from Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia, and 50+ OTAs in one search. We provide atoll guides, transfer cost analysis, and season recommendations to help you find the right resort.

Editorial Standards
Every published article is either:
- Field-tested with a named byline
- Cross-referenced against at least two independent authoritative sources
- Flagged as "unverified" with clear disclosure
We do not publish AI-generated content without human review and field verification. When we identify an error or outdated information, we correct it promptly and note the change.
For complete editorial standards, see our Editorial Standards page.
API Limitations & Fallbacks
Our tools depend on third-party APIs. When an API is unavailable or returns incomplete data, we fall back to conservative defaults and disclose the limitation. We never guess at visa rules, weather conditions, or safety information.
Conflicts of Interest
We disclose any financial relationships, affiliate partnerships, or vendor-provided review units that could influence content. As of October 2026, we have no active affiliate partnerships. When affiliate links are introduced, they will be clearly disclosed in context.
