# Bali Visa on Arrival for Australians: e-VOA Cost, Stay and Rules
Australian passport holders heading to Bali do not need to visit an embassy first. Indonesia lists Australia among the countries eligible for its Visa on Arrival, and you can buy the same visa online before you fly as an electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA).

Visa on arrival or e-VOA?
Both are the same visit visa. The difference is when you pay. The e-VOA is applied for at evisa.imigrasi.go.id with a debit or credit card, and Indonesian Immigration says it is sent by the system within 1x24 hours. The non-electronic VOA is paid at the designated bank counter in the immigration area on arrival. Card payments for the e-VOA can attract extra fees from your bank.
Purpose of travel
The eVisa portal describes the visitor visa as single entry for tourism, government visits, business meetings, goods purchasing, or transit. It does not allow work.
Extending your stay
Indonesian Immigration states the 30-day stay can be extended once, up to 60 days in total. e-VOA holders can extend online through the eVisa portal; holders of a paper VOA extend at the nearest immigration office.
Passport validity
We could not confirm the passport-validity requirement on an official Indonesian page fetched today, so we have not stated a figure. Check the current requirement with the Directorate General of Immigration and your airline before you travel.
Avoid copycat sites
Only use the official portal at evisa.imigrasi.go.id. Look-alike sites may charge more than the official IDR 500,000 fee.
