Cambodia Visa for Australians: e-Visa and Visa on Arrival Explained
Australians visiting Cambodia can use the official tourist e-Visa (US$30 visa fee) or a visa on arrival at international airports and major land borders. Checked October 2026.
# Cambodia Visa for Australians: e-Visa and Visa on Arrival Explained
Australians need a visa for Cambodia, but you have two easy options: apply online for the official e-Visa, or get a visa on arrival.
Decision guide: which Cambodian visa route suits you?
1. Want certainty before you fly? Choose the official e-Visa. 2. Flying in at short notice, or crossing a major land border? A visa on arrival is available. 3. Unsure your airline will board you without a visa? Apply for the e-Visa, or ask the Embassy for a verification letter.
The facts behind the decision
| Item | What the official sources say |
|---|---|
| Tourist visa | Visa T |
| Official e-Visa | Apply at evisa.gov.kh |
| Visa T fee | 30 (visa fee only, listed in CHF by the Cambodian mission in Geneva) — see note below |
| Visa on arrival | Offered at all international airports and major land-border entry points |
| Visa stickers | Discontinued from 3 October 2026; visas are now fully digital |
| e-Arrival | Recommended within 7 days before arrival |
Route 1 vs route 2 in detail
Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs mission page says applicants can apply directly for an e-Visa through the official portal, available 24/7. It also confirms a Visa-on-Arrival at all international airports and major land-border entry points, and suggests checking with your airline that you can board without a prior visa.
What will it cost?
Not fully verified. The official mission page lists the Visa T visa fee as 30 (CHF for applications through that embassy). We could not load the evisa.gov.kh fee page or an official visa-on-arrival fee schedule today, so we are not stating a US dollar price. Check the fee shown on evisa.gov.kh before you pay, and avoid look-alike sites.
New for October 2026: no more visa stickers
From 3 October 2026, Cambodia stopped using adhesive visa stickers across all categories in favour of fully digital visas.
Don't forget: the e-Arrival card
The Cambodian mission recommends all travellers submit the Cambodia e-Arrival within 7 days before arrival and keep the QR code ready to scan.
Gaps in the official information
We could not confirm the length of stay or passport-validity rule on an official Cambodian page fetched today, so we have not stated them. Check the e-Visa portal before applying.
