Official fees
| Visa length | Fee on arrival (Department of Immigration) |
|---|---|
| 15 days, multiple entry | US$30 |
| 30 days, multiple entry | US$50 |
| 90 days, multiple entry | US$125 |
At the airport: the four official steps
The Department of Immigration lists these steps:
1. Have your arrival card ready. 2. Fill in the online Tourist Visa form before you arrive (or at a kiosk at the airport). If you fill it in online, print the barcode receipt; it is valid for 15 days. 3. Pay at the bank counter for your chosen visa length. 4. Take your receipts, arrival card and passport to the immigration desk.
The Nepal Tourism Board says fees can be paid in US dollars or a convertible foreign currency.
Common mistakes: overstaying and late extensions
The Department states extensions are done for a minimum of 15 days for US$45, plus US$3 per day for additional days. Delays of under 150 days attract a late fine of US$5 per day.
